BBS Basics

BBS stands for "Bulletin Board System", and encompasses a wide array of websites and forums. In relation to the KolymaNET support pamphlets, it generally refers to Anonymous Bulletin Boards, such as the ones found on Devyach and other websites.

Some BBS' support the posting of images, while others only allow the postinf of text. The first Anonymous Bulletin Boards were created in Japan, some of those Japanese websites later influenced the creation of large Russian and English websites like 9channel and 4chan.

The Kolyma Network operates a proprietary BBS software named "Kokonotsuba", which is japanese for "9 Leaves".
